Ultra rare recording from one of the most important Greek composers.
Kyriakos Sfetsas said on the sleeve: "the Work commissioned by the "Greek Association for Contemporary Music" was written during August to September 1978. It is based on a poem by Makidonios Ypatos, a poet who came from Thessaloniki and lived circa 500 a.c. during the reign of Emperor Ioustinianos. The poem of this famous Byzanian poet is inluded in the  "Palatine Anthology" and is transalated into modern Greek by Andreas Lendakis.
The largest part of the Work is an instrumental overture of an oriental lay style, where the music itself unfolds all meanings of the poetry. Thus, the listener, under the impact of the various sound dimensions, bears the sensibility to assimilate the poetry when the voice comes in."
