This is a hard to find vinyl for sure. Recorded in 1990, don't expect some jazz theories as the fucking Discogs says (who listens the records pal ?) but a prog masterpiece.
Close to... Wapassou or something.I love to say that.
Feel lucky to dl this the next 7 days.

"Easy" Four

Easy by Psycheground .Monster from Italy, recorded early 70's and produced by G. Reverberi (ex-Le Orme).

Four Women by Black Cat Bones. The album "Barbed Wire Sandwich" on Decca from 1970 (there is also a US edition on P.I.P label, same year)  features guitarist Paul Kossoff and drummer Simon Kirke (later both on Free).Awesome.

  Ζή (Lives) by Robert Williams (ex-Poll). Cool hellenic pop/psych record with more mellotron than Wakeman's solo that year (1976). Never found a mint (Polydor) vinyl copy down the street, this rip @320 has some scratches.

Bone by Map Of Africa. Excellent freaky album from 2007 on "Whatever We Want Records".
DJ Harvey & Thomas Bullock on acid. Best.

U - Turn & Inversion

One of the best jazz meets rock meets prog hellenic compositions ever, remains unheard.This is the second Lucas Thanos post on this site (check ) and better by far.There is GREAT work on violin by George Maglaras, seminal bass by Yiorgos Zikoyiannis and space drums by Nick Antypas (last two both on Socrates).For some reason this record is on demand in Japan so open your eyes...
The track Ωδή Σε Ενα Νέο / Ode To A Young Guy is around 9 min. (classic vinyl rip @ 320)

A Nice Island

Sorry for the bad scanning at first.
Then ..this is the Electric Jazz Trio.They hail from Greece and formed around late 80's from the brothers Thodoros and Nikos Kapilidis on el,guitar and drums (both from Xanthi town) and Yiotis Kiourtsoglou on bass (born in Kozani).The reason of the post is an excellent version on H.Hancock's heavily known  " Cantaloupe Island  ".(on the label and the sleeve it's written as  " Countaloupe  " ). No problem at all.
The personel completed on this record with the awesome Danny Hayes on trumpet and Emanuel Boyd on sax.If you ever find a vinyl copy invest easily.

Paul Karapiperis (singer and Harmonica) is known as a founder member of Small Blues Trap.
This is his personal recording recorded at Malesina ,Greece in 2008.
The cd was given away (at a very fair price) and by mail, with a book by Dimitris Epikouris in greek language based on this blues project.

History from the sleeve :
"It is the unique and first Dixie band in Greece in the last years and it is composed by 11 amateur musicians. The  band was founded in 1986 by Mr. C. Phillipidis lawyer ,director of the band with the cooperation of musicians from the band of Corinthos Municipality and the Jazz Club of Corinthos.The first lessons of this traditional jazz style were given by the father of " Dixie " in Bulgaria, maestro Manol Tsokov.The repertory of the band originates from the standarts of Dixieland and blues and also Greek songs."
Have a drink and enjoy the famous Stigma Jazz Band Corinthos.

Iskra

Amazing prog jazz recording from the greek group Iskra and NOT this one.
The band recorded two excellent lp's , this is from 1990, their second and last one.Quite expensive vinyl these days but if you look better in the known record shops around this freaky capital...you can get it!
