The Artwoods formed around 1964 and when they recorded in 1966 on Decca their one and only excellent LP, members of the band were Jon Lord on keyboards and Keef Hartley on drums. They played the blues with jazz elements and also released some EPs and 7''s which are extremely rare and very difficult to locate these days. Nuff said, all releases are highly recommended not only to British Blues fans.
In 1995 Repertoire Records released on cd the full lp with 14 bonus tracks (almost all their singles). The track " Be my Lady ", a Cropper-Dunn-Jackson-Jones (Booker T. & The M.G.'s) composition and a great instrumental, comes from this album and around 20 years later another version as " Be My Girl " is introduced by the The James Taylor Quartet.
